GNSS Surveys
Accurate positioning underpins every survey we carry out, and GNSS technology is one of the core methods used to achieve it. By using satellite-based positioning equipment, our surveyors can capture precise coordinates and levels across a site quickly and reliably, even over large or open areas where traditional methods would take significantly longer. GNSS surveying supports a wide range of projects, from topographical surveys to setting out and boundary verification.
How GNSS Surveys Work
GNSS equipment uses signals from multiple satellite networks to determine precise horizontal and vertical positioning on site, typically achieving centimetre-level accuracy when used with RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) correction. This makes it particularly effective for large open sites, rural land, and projects where speed and coverage matter alongside precision, complementing more localised survey methods where needed.
Where GNSS Fits into Wider Survey Work
GNSS positioning is rarely used in isolation — it’s most often combined with topographical surveys to establish accurate site levels and boundaries, or used alongside other equipment such as total stations on sites with limited satellite visibility, such as those with heavy tree cover or tall buildings. With more than 3 decades of surveying experience, SSIP and ISO accredited processes, and Safe Contractor, CHAS, and Constructionline approved working methods, we use GNSS technology to deliver accurate results at competitive rates on projects nationwide.
